Noninhalation narcosis agent
Rapid short-term anesthetic effect.
Ingredients: Enbifol contains propofol as an active ingredient, 10 mg in 1 ml, as well as excipients: soybean oil, medium chain triglycerides, egg lecithin, sodium oleate, glycerol and water for injection.
Description: White to cream colored emulsion, shake before use.
Purpose: Enbifol is used in cats and dogs for general short-term anesthesia (especially when a short period of anesthesia is required), for induction of anesthesia and maintenance of anesthesia. Propofol, a component of the drug, is highly lipophilic and easily penetrates the blood-brain barrier, causing a rapid short-term anesthetic effect with minimal agitation stage. Medicated sleep starts within 60 seconds and lasts from 10 to 60 minutes, depending on the dose administered.
Contraindications: The animal's hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, severe decompensated diseases of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, kidney and liver diseases, pregnancy.
Dosage and how to use:
Enbifol is administered to animals intravenously for short-term anesthesia or diagnostic surgery in one dose; for induction of anesthesia and maintenance of basic anesthesia, in fractional doses. For short-term general anesthesia the drug is administered in the following dosages:
For dogs: without premedication: 0.65 ml per kg body weight, with premedication: 0.25 - 0.4 ml per kg body weight.
Cats: without premedication: 0.8 ml per kg body weight, with premedication: 0.4 - 0.6 ml per kg body weight.
When premedicating with acepromazine and benzodiazepines, the administered dose should be reduced by an average of 25%.
When premedicating with α-2-agonists, the administered dose of the drug must be reduced by 50% to 70%.
Storage life of Enfibol in the appropriate storage conditions in the closed original package: 3 years from the date of manufacture, the vial cannot be stored after opening.
