It rapidly reaches maximum concentration in blood plasma (high binding to plasma proteins, up to 76%).
Ingredients: Regumiral contains ondansetron hydrochloride dihydrate as an active ingredient, 2 mg per 1 ml, as well as excipients: citric acid in monohydrate form, sodium citrate for injection, sodium chloride, water for injection.
Description: Colorless or light yellow transparent liquid.
Purpose: Regumiral is used in cats and dogs for the prevention and elimination of nausea and vomiting of various etiologies. Ondansetron, a component of the drug, provides highly selective blocking of central (trigger zone chemoreceptors, vomiting center) and peripheral serotonin 5-HT3 receptors, and, as a result, prevents vomiting.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity of the animal to components of the drug, pregnancy of the animal; Regumiral must not be used incombination with apomorphine.
Dosage and how to use:
Regumiral is administered intravenously or intramuscularly in the following dosages:
Chemotherapy: half an hour before the treatment in an amount of 0.5 - 1.0 mg per kg body weight of the animal (0.25 - 0.5 ml/kg).
Administration for other purposes: 0.1 - 0.2 mg per kg body weight (0.05 - 0.1 ml/kg) 1 - 2 times a day
Storage life of Regumiral in the appropriate storage conditions in the closed original package: 3 years from the date of production, 28 days after vial opening.
